Via del Governo Vecchio
Running parallel to the tourist crush of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, this narrow medieval street between Piazza Navona and Piazza della Chiesa Nuova is lined with independent boutiques, vintage shops, and artisan workshops that have somehow resisted gentrification. Leather bags, handmade jewellery, restored antique furniture, and curated vintage clothing fill storefronts with character. The street itself is photogenic — crumbling ochre facades with green shutters, laundry hanging overhead, vespa-filled doorways. Unlike Via Condotti's luxury flagship parade, shopping here feels personal: owners know their stock and will talk you through the provenance of a piece if you show interest.
